It would be a hard task for any West Ham fans to select a player this season who has performed above expectations.
However, there are certainly plenty of candidates for player who has disappointed most, and Pedro Obiang is certainly one of those players.
The Spanish midfielder was one of the bright sparks in an otherwise difficult campaign for the Hammers in 2016/17 and was justifiably rewarded with a new five-year contract in July.
However, since then, the midfielder has been nothing short of abysmal and has contributed nothing to West Ham’s frankly awful Premier League campaign thus far.
Speaking to the media regarding the players’ relationship with new manager David Moyes, Obiang, who is valued at £8.1million by Transfermarkt stated;
“We need time to understand better what Moyes wants and we have to work more to be fit to do what he wants. He thinks we can do something better and we have to do more. We have to work hard for the next game”.
The 25-year-old’s words have not gone down well with Hammers fans, who believe that their club can’t afford time to understand the new boss;
How about the players understanding what the fans want which is 100% commitment and being proud of wearing the West Ham Shirt.No hiding placed for players anymore you are all very fortunate to be in such a well paid career so tell the others to respect us and do it for us on Fri

If he put in a challenge or better passed to his own team mates that would be a start

Sounds like a child to me! All he has to do is complete 5 yard passes and put in a 100% effort.. hardly rocket science Pedro
