According to reliable club insider @ExWHUemployee on Episode 102 of ‘The West Ham Way’ radio show, West Ham United defender Sam Byram has suffered a serious injury during his loan spell with Nottingham Forest that is set to keep him out of action until 2019, and Irons fans have been quick to react.
The 24-year-old has found first-team football hard to come by ever since joining the club from Leeds United having suffered from a number of injury niggles and found himself behind the likes of Pablo Zabaleta and now Ryan Fredericks in the pecking order, and he would have hoped to get some regular minutes and prove he still has a Hammers future during his spell with Forest.
Instead, @ExWHUemployee suggests he is now likely to return to the club for rehabilitation following the injury, which happened during his third appearance for the Championship side.
West Ham supporters have taken to social media to have their say on the injury setback for Byram, and while one said they were “gutted for him”, another said “he can’t catch a break”.

That’s a real shame. Saw him play for Forest recently and he had a really good game.

Gutted for him! Hopefully he recovers well and wouldn’t mind him back with us as I quite like him

And this sadly is Sam Byram’s issue. Can’t get a stable place in a team because his made of sugar paper. Shame for the lad but sometimes it ain’t meant to be as we found out with Jack Collison

Gutted for him but think this might be one injury too far.
