A rumour circulated on Twitter on Monday that West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic was suffering from a hamstring injury, which the reliable @ExWHUemployee later confirmed, and Irons fans have been quick to have their say on the news as their injury crisis continues to deepen.

The in-form attacker felt his hamstring during the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth at the London Stadium on Saturday following an effort at goal, but he still played the full 90 minutes against the Cherries.

However, @ExWHUemployee now says that he could be absent for the crucial upcoming Premier League matches against Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion, with the east London outfit already missing the likes of Michail Antonio, Andy Carroll and Manuel Lanzini because of injury.

West Ham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the news, and while one said "we are doomed", another said "kill me".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
