West Ham fans react negatively to club’s throwback tweet

Not even footage of West Ham United scoring against Tottenham Hotspur could cheer the Hammers supporters up on Monday afternoon.

West Ham’s official Twitter account posted a video of Anton Ferdinand scoring against Spurs in 2005 in a bid to raise the mood following Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Watford.

It seemed to go the opposite way, however, with many fans insisting that the club should be more worried about the current state of affairs then reliving former glories.

It is certainly a difficult time to be a West Ham supporter, and it will get a whole lot worse if the Hammers fail to overcome Leicester City at the London Stadium on Friday night.

There is a genuine concern that David Moyes’ spell in charge could all end in tears, although the Scot will be confident that he can prove a lot of people wrong.

Anton Ferdinand will have had some mentions when he logged onto his Twitter account on Monday, but the majority of responses to West Ham’s post were of a negative nature.

A selection of the reaction can be found below:
