Reece Burke’s West Ham United departure was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.
The 21-year-old came through the youth system at West Ham, and made 15 first-team appearances for the Hammers in all competitions.
However, Declan Rice’s impressive form last season seems to have had an impact on Burke’s bid to secure a regular position in the team.
Derby County had been strongly linked with a move for the centre-back, but Hull City have secured his signature ahead of the 2018-19 Championship campaign.
Burke might not have had too much football at West Ham, but he has been on loan at Bradford City, Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers over the last few seasons, and will fancy his chances of impressing for Hull in the second tier of English football.
It has certainly been a busy summer for West Ham thus far, and the number of incomings naturally means that players will have to move in the opposite direction.
The West Ham fans have been airing their views on the Burke news on social media, and many took the chance to wish the young defender luck for the future.

All the best Reece, gutted to see you leave but understand your reasons, was at the FA Cup game when you scored what turned out to be your last ever goal for the Hammers! Good luck at Hull City!
