West Ham United defender Sam Byram is wanted on loan by Championship outfit Nottingham Forest this summer, according to The Sun.
Byram moved to West Ham from Leeds United in January 2016, but the 24-year-old has only made 36 appearances for the Hammers in all competitions.
Last term, the versatile defender only appeared in five Premier League matches, and it is not a surprise that he is being linked with a move away from the London Stadium this summer.
West Ham fans have been reacting to the speculation, and it would be fair to say that they are struggling to come to terms with the idea of a loan move.
Indeed, Byram, who has also been linked with a return to Leeds, is no spring chicken – relatively speaking – and a loan move for a player who will be 25 in September does seem a little bit strange.
Byram, who is believed to be on £25,000 a week at West Ham, needs regular football at this stage of his career, and there is no question that he would be an asset to Forest in the Championship if the move goes through.

Why would we loan him. If he has a future at the club then keep him, if not sell him & re-invest.

We need to sell him and get some money in. It’s important for us to have as much money as possible to spend this summer. We need to stop being taken for mugs and letting players leave on the cheap.
