West Ham United announced on Wednesday that midfielder Moses Makasi had signed a new one-year contract with the club.
Makasi has been with West Ham since the age of nine, but he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Hammers.
The 22-year-old made 11 Premier League 2 appearances for West Ham’s Under-23 side last season, however, before representing Plymouth Argyle on loan in League One.
The midfielder had been tipped to leave the London Stadium this summer, but it has been announced that he has penned a fresh one-year contract with the club.
Makasi landed himself in hot water with the West Ham fans last season when he praised Everton’s Wayne Rooney for scoring a spectacular goal during their clash in November.
In an interview, Makasi revealed that he was hopeful of impressing new West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini as he eyes a first-team spot next season.
The West Ham fans have been reacting to the contract news, and while there are those that have paid tribute to Makasi, there are also some supporters that have reacted negatively to the announcement.
