West Ham United supporters have taken to Twitter to react to claims made by Javier Hernandez’s agent, stating that the Mexican forward would be willing to depart the London Stadium in the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old signed from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of £16million in the summer transfer window, but the former Manchester United striker has failed to fulfil the expectations that were placed on him following his highly-anticipated move to the Hammers.
In 21 games for the Irons, Hernandez has only scored five goals, an average worse than a goal every four appearances. The Mexican’s performances have been so uninspiring that David Moyes has opted to utilise Marko Arnautovic as a striker as opposed to deploying a recognised centre-forward.
Recent speculation has linked Javier Hernandez with a move to Turkish outfit Besiktas, in the Super Lig. While his immediate future is indeed in the balance, here’s how West Ham supporters reacted to news of his potential departure on Twitter…
Wow, that's really a waste of time and move for Javier Hernandez to play for West Ham United. After 6 months at the club, he's leaving?! I feel like West Ham United pressured Bayer Leverkusen into selling him.

To be fair he is atrocious

I wait about 10 years for a decent striker, and we sign one don’t start them, then try to sell 6 months later 🙁

He should have stayed at Bayer Leverkusen.

I am not sure whether this is a popular opinion or not but I would happily swap Jonjo Shelvey for Javier Hernandez.
Both players are in need of a fresh start.
Maybe Rafa Benitez could find a replacement for Shelvey in the same way he found Mikel Merino? #NUFC #WHUFC
