West Ham fans react to potential Felipe Anderson signing

It has somewhat of a glum old time for West Ham fans since leaving the grand old figure that was Upton Park a couple of years ago.

Since moving into the London Stadium, there has been howls of discontent from supporters in the stands as well as on the pitch as was seen by the outrageous protests against Burnley in March.

Frustrations over the owners, the managers in Slaven Bilic and his underwhelming replacement in David Moyes as well the underperforming squad, have seen the Hammers fall into the land of mid-table obscurity.

However, all that seems to have changed in the past month with the departure of Moyes and the signing of the statesman type figure of Manuel Pellegrini, who has much experience as well as being a strong selling point when it comes to signing players from the continent.

While player signings are a thing of fact, it seems to have more credibility when it comes from a journalist who is deemed to be ‘in the know.’

This is the case with Nicolo Schira, a journalist for the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport’ who would have put all Hammers fans on red alert with a tweet alluding to the fact that they were close to signing 25-year-old attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson from Lazio.

While it has been reported by The Daily Express, citing Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, that West Ham had a £33million bid turned down in recent days, Schira is confident the deal is going through shortly.

You can see his initial tweet and the reaction to it below. Nothing can beat the optimism or pessimism of Football fans…
