West Ham have announced that Aaron Cresswell has signed a contract extension with the club, but several fans are disappointed with the development.

The new deal will keep the 29-year-old at the club until 2023, but despite a positive start to the season with goals against Manchester United and Bournemouth, some can't help but feel it is the wrong decision.

One supporter thinks it is the wrong step to take if the club is serious about qualifying for the Europa League, whilst others have suggested he is on the decline and doesn't deserve a renewal just because of a few good performances.

It is an understandable viewpoint considering he had lost his place in the side to Arthur Masuaku prior to the Frenchman getting suspended, and the London Stadium faithful may have been hoping for a little more ambition.

However, if the left-back stays until the end of his contract he will have been at the club for ten years, and therefore he could be considered a great club servant by the end of his stint in east London.
