Fernando Llorente’s strike and Heung-min Son’s double sent a lacklustre West Ham side crashing out of the League Cup at the hands of Spurs on Halloween night; with Hammers fans quick to point fingers, Felipe Anderson’s horror show of a performance was subject to heavy criticism.
£34.2m man Anderson has endured a turbulent start to life in the Premier League. With only one goal and assist each to his name, the former Lazio man hasn’t lived up to expectations and has thus far looked like a shadow of the player who recorded 25 goals and 32 assists in 135 Serie A appearances previously.
West Ham fans were salivating at the thought of the Brazilian’s link up play with Marko Arnautovic when he was brought in in the summer, however the partnership hasn’t been as fruitful as many thought it would be as the Hammers sit just three points above the drop.
The speedster was rated a five out of 10 by Sky Sports, summing up his performance as he was subbed off at half-time, but West Ham fans have a little more to say on the matter.
Here’s how they reacted on Twitter.

Glad to see Felipe Anderson taken off, his big price tag doesn’t entitle him to stay on the pitch when he’s playing terribly which so far has been every game! Lazio conned us massively lol

Felipe Anderson is not the new Payet that we thought we was getting…

I could put in a better ball than Felipe Anderson 100%

Don’t know whether to worried or excited at the fact that Diangana looks twice the player of £40m Felipe Anderson at the moment
