West Ham fans split after Salomon Rondon claims

West Ham United fans have been left split over Salomon Rondon’s claim that the club did not submit a proper proposal for him in the summer transfer window.

Football FanCast understands that the club discussed the possibility of striking a deal for the Venezuela international when he was still at West Bromwich Albion.

Instead of moving within the Premier League, though, Rondon moved to Dalian Yifang, the Chinese club now managed by Rafael Benitez.

The Spaniard, of course, coached Rondon while he was on loan at Newcastle United in 2018/19.

And he has claimed that he did not hear from Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini prior to his move away.

He told The Sun: “We never saw a proper offer.

“I was waiting to see if Pellegrini would call and say, ‘Do you want to come to West Ham? We have a good project. We are trying to go to the Europa League’.

“But I never received that call and Rafa was calling me all the time, so I chose to go to China.”

And fans have been left split over whether a deal for Rondon would actually have been a good one.

The Hammers have signed Sebastian Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.
