West Ham fans split on Aaron Cresswell after signing anniversary tweet from club

West Ham United posted on their official Twitter account on Thursday that it was the four-year anniversary of them signing Aaron Cresswell from Ipswich Town, and from the reaction of some Irons fans it seems they are still split on the versatile defender, rated at £10.8m by Transfermarkt.

The 28-year-old has often played as a left-back or left wing-back for the east London outfit during his time with them, but he often found himself featuring as a left-sided centre-back in a three-man defence under David Moyes at the London Stadium last term.

Even though he was ultimately playing as a centre-half, he still finished the campaign as the club’s top assister in the Premier League with seven, which has impressed many but seemingly not others.

These West Ham supporters, others of which are loving their club being linked to a £18m 2018 World Cup star, were quick to react to the post via social media, and while one said “please sell him”, another described him as “my favourite player”.
