According to reports, West Ham will consider selling Aaron Cresswell this summer, and fans are evenly split on dumping the full back.

It’s been a strange season for several West Ham players, but none more so than Aaron Cresswell.

The 28 year-old started the season hoping to kick on and claim his status as one of the best left backs in the league, but the emergence of Arthur Masuaku and the shortage of centre backs has seen him spend half the season in central defence.

The flying full back has played 17 of his 32 Premier League starts at centre back, mostly on the left side of a back three, but has still managed the most assists in the team, with seven.

Despite his excellent crossing though, fans have raised concerns about his defensive capabilities, something that has been highlighted playing in the heart of defence.

Cresswell averages one tackle per game, 1.3 interceptions and 2.9 clearances, but the concerns about his defending are not going away anytime soon, and plenty of fans are okay with the idea of dumping him.

Plenty of others are sticking up for the Englishman though, and some of the best Twitter reactions can be found below…
