West Ham United are becoming increasingly confident of signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere this summer, as covered by The Sun at the weekend.

Having worked his way back to fitness and indeed back into the Arsenal team, Wilshere was expected to sign a new contract with the Gunners.

Contract talks have stalled, however, and the Englishman - left out of Gareth Southgate's squad for for the 2018 World Cup - will see his current Arsenal deal expire on June 30.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for the central midfielder, but it is being reported that West Ham are confident of securing his signature.

According to The Sun, new Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is a huge signing of Wilshere, having previously tried to sign the midfielder whilst in charge of Manchester City.

The West Ham fans have been reacting to the latest speculation on social media, and it would be fair to say that they are split when it comes to the 26-year-old.
