West Ham United have started their 2018-19 Premier League campaign with back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Bournemouth.
The loss at Liverpool on the opening weekend was expected, but the 2-1 home reverse to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon certainly came as a surprise.
New Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is still experimenting with his options in the middle of the park, and it might be a few weeks before a regular partnership is found.
Pedro Obiang is still with the club this summer despite being heavily linked with a move away, but Pellegrini has not called upon the services of the 26-year-old thus far.

Obiang – on £55,000 a week – is perhaps the obvious choice for the Hammers in one of the two defensive midfield positions, but he has been ignored in the early stages of the season.
The West Ham fans have been discussing the former Spain Under-21 international on social media, and it would be fair to say that they are split when it comes to his future at the London Stadium.
A selection of the Twitter reaction from the West Ham supporters can be seen below:
I’d like to see Obiang and Sanchez start in midfield

When most players ask to leave fans turn on them. Do we want someone playing who doesn’t want to be here?

the guy can’t boss games against league 1 or 2 sides, chases shadows and is average and everything not great at anything
