Various reports in Switzerland have claimed that there is a release clause in Xherdan Shaqiri's Stoke City contract that will allow the attacker to leave for £12m this summer.

Shaqiri has actually been in pretty good form for Stoke this term - scoring eight times and registering six assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.

The 26-year-old is widely expected to leave the Potters this summer following their relegation from the Premier League, and West Ham are one of a number of clubs believed to be considering an approach for the Switzerland international.

Shaqiri impressed on Stoke's recent visit to the London Stadium, and there is no question that the attacker has excellent ability.

The West Ham fans have been discussing the reports that their club could move for the versatile attacker, and it would be fair to say that they are finding it difficult to agree on whether the 66-time Switzerland international would be a good signing.
