West Ham fans urge club to sign Dendoncker as Joao Mario move edges closer

West Ham United are on the verge of signing Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario on loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer, and Irons fans want Anderlecht star Leander Dendoncker to follow the 25-year-old to the London Stadium.

BBC Football reported on Thursday that the Portugal international – who was part of the squad as his country won Euro 2016 – is having a medical with the east London outfit.

David Moyes’ men have also been heavily linked with Dendoncker this month, with some reports in Belgium suggesting that the 22-year-old is keen to join the Hammers before the January transfer window closes.

It is certainly a move that would be backed by West Ham supporters as they speculate as to who could follow Joao Mario through the door by next Wednesday, with one saying “please be Dendoncker”, and another saying “now get Dendoncker and all will be forgiven”.
