Some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they want young defender Ben Johnson to start their next Premier League game against Brighton.
The versatile 19-year-old full-back joined the Hammers first-team in pre-season this summer, and was amongst the best performers in the traditional lung-busting endurance challenges.
Similarly to Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Johnson has been converted from a winger into a marauding full-back and definitely looks to have some promise about him.
He can play either at left-back or at right-back, with the former of those positions having a seemingly unwelcome occupant in Aaron Cresswell, who a few fans below have called out as one of the players who Johnson should replace for the next game against Brighton.

It would certainly be a big call for Manuel Pellegrini to hand the teenager just his second Premier League appearance out of the blue.
Let’s see what the West Ham fans on Twitter have been saying about Johnson…
Over Cresswells shambolic performance last week yes, but I’ve seen people putting him in over Fredericks which is ridiculous, gove Fredericks a run of 5-8 games and he’ll find his feet

Gotta give our young guys a go.. look what happened with rice. Ben Johnson could be a great player for us, but we’ll never know unless he’s given a chance to play this season.
