West Ham fans are hoping the Hammers go back in for Bernard, as the Brazilian’s signing demands for a free transfer were revealed.
West Ham completed the signing of Andriy Yarmolenko on Wednesday, but fans are already eyeing up even more attacking flair to play alongside the Ukrainian international.
According to reports in Brazil last week, West Ham made an offer to Bernard after his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk ran out, but the player is also attracting interest from China.
Now, a report from Portuguese outlet Record has revealed the speedster’s demands, and they really aren’t that big.
According to Record (via Sport Witness), the free agent wants €10m (£8.9m) as a signing on fee and €3m (£2.7m) a year in wages, which comes in around the £50,000 per-week marker.
Considering the 25 year-old is a 14-cap Brazil international averaging nearly a goal or assist every two games in his career, the £8.9m signing fee could be looked at as a bargain transfer fee, and his wage demands aren’t absurd either.
