West Ham United look to be on the verge of appointing Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager, and Irons fans are already discussing the players the Chilean could bring to the London Stadium with him, including Stoke City attacker Xherdan Shaqiri.

The 64-year-old looks set to succeed David Moyes after the Scot was told last week that he wasn't going to be kept on following the expiry of his contract, and he will likely want to get to work on a squad that ultimately underachieved as they ended the Premier League campaign in 13th position.

Meanwhile, Shaqiri was part of the Potters team that was relegated to the Championship despite his personal haul of eight goals and seven assists in 36 top flight appearances, and Swiss media outlet Blick say he is available for just £12m this summer because of a clause in his contract.

West Ham supporters, who 50% of don't want to sign a 30-year-old defender who thwarted Robert Snodgrass while he was in action for Aston Villa, have been quick to have their say on the 26-year-old forward via social media, and while one said "Shaqiri would do a decent job under Pellegrini", another said "get in Shaqiri".
