According to club insider WHUEmployee, West Ham United want to sign Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope in this summer's transfer window.

Joe Hart has left the Hammers to return to parent club Manchester City, whilst there remains uncertainty surrounding the future of Spanish stopper Adrian.

West Ham have been linked with a move for Manchester United's Sam Johnstone, but it is understood that Burnley stopper Pope, who is valued at £9m by transfermarkt.co.uk, is also on their shortlist.

That said, WHUEmployee has claimed that West Ham have approached Burnley over Pope and also Tom Heaton, with both goalkeepers of interest.

The West Ham fans have been reacting to the transfer speculation on social media, and it is clear that they want Pope to be the team's new number one next season.

It has been some 12 months for Pope, with the 26-year-old playing 35 of Burnley's 38 Premier League matches during the 2017-18 campaign, and his fine performances at club level earned him a spot in the England squad for the 2018 World Cup.
