West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu before the January transfer window slams shut, and Irons fans want the former Everton man to replace the injured Manuel Lanzini in the starting line-up.
According to Spanish media outlet El Gol Digital, the Irons are ready to offer Barca €20m (£17.6m) to sign the attacker, although the same report claims that the La Liga leaders want €45m (£39.6m) for the 23-year-old.
Lanzini was substituted off in the 64th minute of the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth at the London Stadium on Saturday with a suspected hamstring injury, which could keep him out of action for a few weeks.
West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the link to Deulofeu via social media, and while one said ‘I think Deulofeu would be a brilliant addition to cover Lanzini as they are similar players’, another said they would “rather have him than Nasri”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
If Lanzini is out for a few weeks, I think Deulofeu would be a brilliant addition to cover him. Very similar players.
I really hope the rumours are true.

@ExWHUemployee saw we may be interested in Deulofeu, just from a random account so doubt it has any substance but think he would be a class signing to back up and work with Lanzini

I'd like him to come here. I thought he was decent with Everton

If West Ham can sign:
– Joao Mario
– Centre back (maybe)
That's a solid window. Not saying we will but I can only go by who we're legitimately linked with ⚒🤷🏻♂️
