Following the announcement that Pablo Zabaleta is to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, Sky Sports have claimed the 58-cap Argentina international is close to joining West Ham on a free transfer.

Zabaleta has spent nine years in the colour of Sky Blue, making an impressive 332 appearances for the club and winning two Premier League titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup.

He'd certainly add some much-needed experience and solidity to West Ham's defence, with the east London club conceding a whopping 64 times throughout their 2016/17 Premier League campaign.

One man who may have something to say about that, however, is Sam Byram, the youngster who signed from Leeds United in January 2016. Byram struggled for playing time during the early days of his West Ham career, but has since established himself in Slaven Bilic's side - making 18 starts this season.

At the age of 23, the Englishman still has plenty of years ahead of him, while Zabaleta is likely to remain a short-term option for Hammers should they sign the 32-year-old in the coming months.

So what should your side do, West Ham fans? Stick with the young, or bring in the old guard to add some much needed experience? Let us know by voting below...
