West Ham have up to £40m set aside to add a top class centre-forward to Slaven Bilic’s ranks this summer, with Liverpool’s Christian Benteke, Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon and Marseille hot-shot Michy Batshuayi all wanted, according to reports from Sky Sports.
The Hammers have enjoyed a stunning 2015/16 under their Croatian boss, and currently find themselves in the running for a top four finish and just a replay at home to Manchester United away from a trip to Wembley in the FA Cup.
Although all has been going well for the Irons on the whole, Bilic’s men are the lowest scorers in the Premier League’s top five with a tally of 47, and reports claim that this could be addressed at the end of the season with a move for one of Batshuayi, Lacazette or Benteke.
The latter has endured a woeful debut season at Liverpool and is thought to be available less than 12 months after his £32.5m move from Aston Villa.
Lacazette and Batshuayi have impressed in Ligue 1 over the course of the past two seasons for Lyon and Marseille respectively, and could be available within West Ham’s £40m budget.
