West Ham United have no interest in signing Porto striker Moussa Marega in this transfer window, per ClaretandHugh.

What’s the word?

The club have repeatedly been linked with a move for Marega throughout recent transfer windows and A Bola had claimed that the Irons could table an offer prior to next Thursday’s transfer deadline.

West Ham have already broken their transfer record to sign Sebastian Haller this summer and ClaretandHugh claims that the club simply do not have the money to buy the Porto star.

Marega has a €40m (£36.4m) release clause in his contract.

Cheap options needed

The Hammers will need to be thrifty in their dealings across the next week.

The fact of the matter is that the club simply do not have a lot of money left in the kitty.

A deal for Marega would go close to matching the signing of Haller monetarily and the sums simply don’t add up.

The strikeforce could do with strengthening, though, particularly with the club having just two out-and-out strikers at the club – Javier Hernandez and the Frenchman.

But it is more likely that any deal will be a loan or a cheap transfer.
