West Ham in pole position to sign three goals in four games Champions League star

West Ham are leading the race for Roma star Seydou Doumbia, who will be free to leave the club next summer, according to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Ivory Coast international only joined the Italian side in January, but is already away from the club on loan at CSKA Moscow – whom he signed for the Serie A club from initially.

His spell in Rome was fruitless, however, since his switch to Russia the 27-year-old has once again been in terrific form, notching three goals in four Champions League appearances this term, as well as five in domestic league action.

And reports claim that with Roma keen to cash in on their man next summer, West Ham are in pole position to offer him a new challenge.

A figure of close to the £10m they paid for Doumbia less than 12 months ago is likely to be asked for.

The African ace is known for his lightening speed and clinical finishing ability and currently wears the number 88 shirt for CSKA.
