Reliable West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has exclusively confirmed via his Twitter account that new Irons manager Manuel Pellegrini doesn't want to sign Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure this summer, despite reports to the contrary.

The 64-year-old was confirmed as David Moyes' successor on Tuesday, and it was reported by The Telegraph that he was keen to be reunited with the 35-year-old, who is searching for a new club after it was announced that he would be leaving the Premier League champions following the expiry of his contract this summer.

However, the Ivory Coast international's new team won't be the Irons according to @ExWHUemployee as he says the Chilean boss, whom Hammers supporters on Twitter are keen to see link up with £140,000-a-week attacker, is targeting younger players with pace as he looks to lead the east London club to a top-half Premier League finish minimum next term.

Toure has scored 59 goals in 230 English top flight appearances during his career, winning the title with City on three occasions.

The decision to opt for younger and fresher legs rather than a quick, short-term fix is something that will give West Ham fans hope that the club is finally going to get their recruitment right.
