West Ham keen to re-sign former ace

Demba BaWest Ham are set to make a fresh move to bring Chelsea‘s Demba Ba back to Upton Park in January, according to reports from The Sun.

The Hammers are currently short on attacking options, with star signing Andy Carroll sidelined through injury.

Sam Allardyce is thought to be willing to address his concerns in the winter by delving into the transfer window, and has made Ba one of his top targets.

The Senegalese ace carved out his reputation in England during a short spell with the Londoners in 2011, where he netted seven goals in 12 outings.

Despite his fine form, West Ham were unable to avoid relegation and the 28-year-old used a clause in his contract to move to Newcastle.

Since then Ba secured a big switch to Chelsea, but he has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese coach is thought to be willing allow his back-up forward to leave, alerting West Ham.

Allardyce is keen to bring Ba back, and may look to force through a loan move or a cut-price deal in the New Year.
