West Ham launch move for 10th summer signing, bid submitted (not Bacca)

West Ham have lodged a shock €8m (£6.8m) offer for Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal, according to reports from L’Equipe.

The Hammers have been extremely active in the summer transfer market, with their recent double move for Andre Ayew and Arthur Masuaku having taken their signing tally to NINE this window alone.

Further to this, a £120,000-per-week contract offer to lure Carlos Bacca to the London Stadium has been mooted, but reports claim that Ghezzal is a player they also want.

The Algerian is understood to have been the subject of a £6.8m bid from the Irons, but a decision is not expected imminently with the Ligue 1 club set for discussions with the wide-man regarding his future at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

West Ham are well-stocked in terms of attacking midfielders, but with a tough campaign that will include Europa League football until at least the turn of the year, the addition of Ghezzal could help Slaven Bilic to build on an impressive 2015/16.
