West Ham line up fiery South American

West Ham are eyeing a summer move to replace Sam Allardyce with Marseille manager Marcelo Bielsa, according to reports from Goal.

‘Big Sam’s’ future at Upton Park is currently in doubt, with the experienced Premier League gaffer’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Even though Allardyce has a good record in the English game, his relationship with the Hammers’ fans is somewhat rocky given the struggles of the club last season and his penchant for direct football.

Negotiations to extend his stay have not yet kicked off, and now reports claim that Bielsa is seen as an option.

The Argentine is known for his spiky temperament, but is widely hailed as one of European football’s best coaches.

Now at Marseille, he’s spent a big chunk of his career in Spanish football, with his spell at Athletic Bilbao between 2011 – 2013 a successful one.

Bielsa – whose l’OM side are third in Ligue 1 – is seen as a progressive manager who could bring in an attractive style of football ahead of the Olympic Stadium move in 2016.
