West Ham looking to re-sign cult hero

West Ham have approached QPR to discuss a stunning move to bring back former goalkeeper Rob Green, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The 12-cap England international spent six years with the Hammers before moving across London to join the Super Hoops, and cemented himself in the club’s history by helping them to promotion from the Championship in 2012.

And the Irons are reportedly looking to take him back to Upton Park with Slaven Bilic in need of an experienced back-up stopper.

It’s understood that West Ham have approached QPR to discuss a possible deal for the 35-year-old, who may be sacrificed due to his high salary – estimated to be over £50,000-per-week.

Green impressed even though the Loftus Road outfit slipped to relegation last season and was even linked with a surprise move to Chelsea earlier this summer to act as Thibaut Courtois’ reserve at Stamford Bridge.
