When Michail Antonio returned from his lengthy injury, the 29-year-old truly did so with a bang in a side that was faltering.

The West Ham United man had missed nine Premier League games, having been forced off after just eight minutes against Newport County.

His return came via a half-time substitution against Tottenham Hotspur with the Hammers already 2-0 down.

He was a rare bright spark in what was a dier performance for West Ham, going on to score his team's first goal of the game with a very well executed dummy and finish.

That was then followed by an effective showing in the win against Chelsea, in which he completed all three of his attempted dribbles, won 14 duels and made two tackles.

However, following such a hectic performance, he was then unable to face Wolves, offering a reminder that while he may look unstoppable on the pitch at times, Antonio does need to be managed.

Did he really play for us?! No West Ham fan has managed to name all of these obscure Irons signings....

There was frustration that the 29-year-old was unable to play on Wednesday evening, with fans indicating that he would have done better than the performance Sebastien Haller managed.

However, when it is considered how integral he has been to the team since returning, it is worth keeping Antonio off the pitch when needed, rather than risking him sustaining another lengthy injury.

This does suggest that West Ham can't allow themselves to become too reliant on the versatile attacker causing a threat, but it is important that another big injury is prevented.

In other news, West Ham fans have criticised one of their defenders for his performance against Wolves.
