West Ham open talks with relegated giants for impressive star

West Ham have opened talks with Aston Villa regarding a move for striker Jordan Ayew, according to reports from The Sun.

The Hammers have been on the lookout for forwards for most of the summer, and are supposedly closing in on a £20m swoop for Andre Ayew from Swansea.

And it seems that the Ghanaian’s sibling, Jordan, is also on their agenda, with reports claiming that discussions are underway with the Villans, with an £8m fee mooted.

Given that the Midlands club have already announced the signing of Ross McCormack from Fulham, Ayew looks likely to leave.

The 37-cap Ghana international only signed for Villa from Lorient last summer and netted seven goals in league action as the Birmingham side finished rock-bottom of the division.

Ayew was also impressive in terms of goalscoring during his last season in French football, notching 12 efforts in 31 games.
