West Ham United duo Winston Reid and Sam Byram will reportedly miss the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign.
Reid was taken to hospital after picking up a knee injury in the 27th minute of West Ham’s 4-1 defeat at Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The centre-back had to receive oxygen as he was stretchered off the field, and according to various reports, he will now be unavailable for the Hammers until next season.
Byram was Reid’s replacement at the Liberty Stadium, but the full-back suffered an ankle injury in the same match, and it is understood that he will also be out for the rest of the season.
Byram, whose recent comments have not gone down well with the West Ham supporters, has only made five Premier League appearances for the capital club this term due to a number of injury problems.
Reid, meanwhile, has made just 18 Premier League appearances during a frustrating 2017-18 campaign.
The Hammers will hope to be boosted by the return of James Collins for Saturday’s clash with Burnley, while Angelo Ogbonna is also expected to feature in the must-win match after recovering from illness.
