West Ham plan shock £18m bid for injury-plagued Liverpool striker

West Ham United are preparing a shock £18m bid for Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge, according to reports from the Brentwood Gazette.

Sturridge has been linked with a move away from Anfield in recent weeks, with the England international struggling to regain full fitness following a series of injuries.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp seems to be fed up with his star forward, and is reportedly ready to cash in on the former Chelsea striker they signed in the January of 2013.

And Hammers manager Slaven Bilic is prepared to take a risk on Sturridge’s fitness with an £18m offer for the 26-year-old.

The Irons are themselves looking for a striker with Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho both sidelined with injuries, and could turn to Sturridge as a Premier League proven alternative to Juventus ace Simone Zaza.

Sturridge has only made six appearances in all competitions this season, but has already scored four goals.
