West Ham readying £8m move to win race for attacking star in January

West Ham are so desperate to win the race for on-loan star Manuel Lanzini that they’re eager to thrash out a January deal with Al Jazira for his signature, according to reports from ESPN.

The Argentine attacking midfielder has shone in the claret and blue shirt since making his season-long move to London from Abu Dhabi over the summer and is already considered to be a favourite of manager Slaven Bilic and the Hammers’ fans.

Lanzini has notched two goals in nine Premier League games – including the opener in a memorable 3-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield – and his form is believed to have alerted rival clubs.

However, reports claim that West Ham are so eager to ensure they win the race for ‘The Jewel’ that they’ve already opened talks with Al Jazira ahead of the looming January transfer window, even though the player is tied to them for the rest of the season.

The Middle Eastern club value their man at £8m and are open to a deal despite having only signed the 22-year-old from River Plate in 2014.
