Former Black Eagles boss Slaven Bilic signed the midfielder for the Vodafone Arena outfit back in summer 2013 and is reportedly seeking a reunion at the Olympic Stadium this summer.
Indeed, it is claimed West Ham have launched a £2.3million bid for the Canadian international, who has represented his country on a whopping 75 occasions – scoring six goals.
However, Besiktas president Fikret Orman has confirmed that the club have rejected West Ham’s opening offer for the 33-year-old, who they are looking to retain for the final season of his contract.
As quoted by talkSPORT, he recently told Turkish reporters; “[Slaven] Bilic suggested €3m [£2.3m] for Atiba. We rejected this proposal and thank him. Atiba has one more year on his contract with us.”
West Ham have been one of the Premier League’s busier clubs so far this summer, already sealing deals for Havard Nordtveit, Valencia duo Sofiane Feghoui and Toni Martinez and former Chelsea youngster Domingos Quina.
