West Ham are set for some late Deadline Day action as a number of reports link them with last gasp deals both in and out of Upton Park.
Sky Sports News HQ are reporting that striker Carlton Cole is currently at West Brom to have a medical, although it is not yet known whether it is a loan deal or a permanent move.
It was also being reported by The Independent earlier today that Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul had opted to join the Hammers in a £2.5million deal after West Ham had failed in an attempt to sign Everton centre-half Sylvain Distin.
And Darren Lewis of the Daily Mirror has been reporting this evening that West Ham are set to recall Mauro Zarate from his loan deal at Queens Park Rangers to offset Carlton Cole’s departure, with out-of-favour winger Matt Jarvis replacing Zarate at Loftus Road.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror also reporting that Tottenham have blocked Emmanuel Adebayor’s move to West Ham today because they see their east London rivals as a real threat to their top four ambitions this season.
