It is safe to say that things aren't going great at West Ham United for Manuel Pellegrini at the moment.

His side has won just one of their last 10 games in all competitions, after surrendering their lead against Arsenal through a ten-minute capitulation.

The Chilean looked like a man on the edge in his interview following that game, while fans are adamant they want him out now amidst reports he has just the Southampton game to save his job.

However, he has maintained confidence in his ability to get himself and the team out of trouble, though he is concerned by the recent run, as reported by The Telegraph:

“I am not worried about relegation. I am more worried about the last five games at home where we have had just one draw, conceding three goals in each game.”

It is the first sentence of that quote that should be of concern to those involved with the Hammers.

To state that he is not concerned about the threat of relegation seems quite naive given the club's current predicament, and quite frankly, it is something that should be entering his head.

The shocking run the team is currently on has already been mentioned, and that's made even more worrying when it's noted that the Hammers currently sit just one point above the relegation zone.

Did he really play for us?! No West Ham fan has managed to name all of these obscure Irons signings....

If there is a club that should know that relegation can come in harsh circumstances, it is West Ham. They were sent down with the highest points total in a 38 game Premier League season in 2003.

If he hasn't done already, Pellegrini really needs to realise that he is in a position where things need to start turning around quickly.

In other news, FFC writers have been giving their verdict on whether Pellegrini should be sacked.
