Albian Ajeti has had a tough time of it since joining West Ham United, with the inevitability of playing second fiddle to Sebastien Haller.

This has seen the 22-year-old limited to 4 substitute appearances in the Premier League and 2 Carabao Cup starts.

However, what will be surprising is how ineffective the striker has been once actually getting onto the pitch.

This is signified by the fact he hasn't managed a single goal, despite playing the full 90 minutes against both Newport County and Oxford United.

Despite the struggles he has faced at London Stadium, Ajeti has still been a fairly regular feature for Switzerland in recent months, with his record of 32 goal contributions across all competitions for Basel last season likely buying him some time.

He came on in a 1-1 draw against Republic of Ireland in May earlier this year before going on to play the full 90 minutes in a 4-0 win against Gibraltar, though he didn't appear in either Euro 2020 qualifier during the October international break.

The striker was back in the team recently though, starting against Georgia at the weekend, though he was eventually hauled off for Cedric Itten in the 71st minute, having managed just 1 shot.

It was his replacement who eventually scored the winner, just seven minutes after entering the field of play.

To further compound the misery of Ajeti, he was dropped for the same man against Gibraltar on Monday, failing to get a single minute during the game, while the St Gallen striker went on to bag a brace.

The fact that he was knocked off of striking duties, despite the absence of Breel Embolo and Haris Seferovic, shows just how much he is struggling at the moment.

It has even been suggested by Claret & Hugh that Manuel Pellegrini is willing to let the striker leave West Ham.

With his confidence at international and club level seemingly shot, it would be no surprise if he departed as early as January.
