West Ham United have had their fair share of injuries over the past few weeks.

Andy Carroll, who has been in and out of the team all season, is set for another spell on the sidelines.

Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic were struck down with injuries just as they were starting to link up well on the pitch, and now it has been confirmed that Pedro Obiang will miss the rest of the season.

The midfielder suffered ligament damage as a result of twisting his knee during an awkward challenge during the Hammers' 2-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup.

The club's head of medical Gary Lewin revealed to West Ham's official website that surgery was a success and that Obiang is expected to return for pre-season.

Some fans chose to offer their support to the midfielder, while others tweeted sarcastic comments about the club's failure to sign Leander Dendoncker from Anderlecht.
