With the hectic festive schedule fast approaching, it is imperative that Premier League clubs have their squads fighting fit.
West Ham United have been struck down by a number of injuries so far this season, but manager Manuel Pellegrini delivered some good news on Thursday.
Ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United at St James’ Park, the Chilean coach confirmed in a press conference that Marko Arnautovic is fit to play and that Jack Wilshere could make an appearance following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
Arnautovic has been playing with a niggle ever since he suffered a knee problem earlier in the campaign.
There was doubt over the attacker’s involvement this weekend after he limped off in the team’s recent 4-0 loss to Manchester City.
However, the Austrian has now been passed fit, while Wilshere is in line to feature for the first time since September.
On Reddit and Twitter, fans gave their reactions to the update.

Newcastle on a run? It’s going to be a hard match. I would prefer waiting until Arnie is fully fit before playing him. We are probably going to need his diligence and presence towards the end of the season so I wouldn’t like his long term fitness to be compromised.
