West Ham United fans are not best pleased with some transfer news centred around long-time defender James Collins.

According to the London Evening Standard, Brighton are on the verge of tabling a £2m bid for the centre-back.

Collins, who is affectionately nicknamed 'Ginger Pele' by the Hammers following, has been at the East London club since 2012 when he joined from Aston Villa.

This season, the defender has started just six Premier League games and two in the Carabao Cup.

The London Evening Standard reports that West Ham are yet to give Collins a contract offer, which suggests that they may be willing to offload him.

Amid the uncertainty over Collins's future, fans have taken to Twitter to give their views on the situation.

The majority appear to be keen on the defender staying at the club.

Meanwhile, the team are preparing for this weekend's clash against Bournemouth at the London Stadium.

David Moyes will hope that the Hammers can extend their unbeaten run in the league to five games.
