Despite withdrawing from a recent international call-up due to illness, West Ham United midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate trained this week with the first team and is not ruled out of action against Southampton this weekend.
It’s a massive match for the Hammers. Defeat at home to the Saints would see them drop into the English Premier League relegation zone with just seven games remaining, putting them at serious risk of dropping down to the Championship.
David Moyes’ side have lost their last three matches by a margin of three goals and fans are rapidly losing faith in their team with Cheikhou Kouyate himself certainly not inspiring hope.
In fact, many fans are hoping he is unavailable for tomorrow’s match at the London Stadium, hoping that young like Josh Cullen may get an opportunity instead.
Will the Irons boss opt for his tried and tested team or freshen things up in the hope of finding a performance?
Fans took to Twitter to discuss the potential appearance of Kouyate…
Why does he persist with Kouyate? 'Reputation over Form' management again

When you read about Kouyate it baffles me why we loan out Oxford and Cullen?? I know they need games/development blah blah but this bloke is a frickin liability when he’s not scoring goals & I get 3 no’s on the lottery more frequently

Surely we’ve seen enough clips of kouyate jogging for him not to be picked…

Rather Kouyate didn't feature at all to be honest Ex. But it's good that Ginge trained

Hopefully Kouyate doesn’t feature

Kouyate should be dropped

Leave Kouyate to have a 6 week rest please @WestHamUtd we wouldn’t wanna risk him losing any more transfer value between now and the transfer window! ??

I think most of the fan base are hopeful he isn't fit for Southampton. He barely puts a full shift in when he is well, hate to see what he is like at 70% fit

Let’s not be hopeful. Let’s give Cullen a chance
