Moving to the London Stadium in 2016 will go down in West Ham United’s history as a controversial moment.

Even now, some fans are still against the decision to leave Upton Park as they feel that their current home lacks atmosphere.

On Monday, West Ham co-owner David Gold confirmed via Twitter that there are plans in motion to increase the capacity of the stadium to 60,000.

The businessman added that it could be further expanded to 66,000 seats, which would make the ground the biggest in London and second largest in the Premier League.

Some supporters were receptive to the news, while others chose to bombard Gold’s Twitter page with questions about Declan Rice’s contract situation.

The versatile youngster has become a key member of Manuel Pellegrini’s team having made the holding role his own.
