Whilst West Ham United clearly have no reason to rest on their laurels with just four games left to play of the current Premier League season, the upcoming summer transfer window should nonetheless be a rather significant period for the Hammers as they look to embark on a new and exciting chapter at London’s Olympic Stadium.

Slaven Bilic will have to strengthen his current outfit regardless of where West Ham ultimately end up this term, for although the 47-year-old Croatian tactician has certainly impressed in his debut campaign in England, life seemingly won’t get any easier for Bilic and his current employers in the not too distant future…

So then, as apparent Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona target Nolito could reportedly be on the verge of joining up with the Hammers this summer, would such a move really help West Ham United define themselves as a dominant force among the Premier League next season, or should Bilic and co. look elsewhere for some added fire-power within the ever competitive transfer scene?

Well, as Nolito has experienced a fine domestic campaign with Celta Vigo, partially established himself as a reliable asset for his nation to count upon when EURO 2016 finally comes around this summer and has also supposedly drawn widespread attention from across the European footballing scene on the back of his impressive goal-scoring exploits, West Ham certainly don’t seem to be aiming low with this latest transfer target.

The 29-year-old Spanish international – who arguably represents somewhat of a late-bloomer within the modern era – must ultimately go down as one of the most sought after players currently doing the rounds in several transfer gossip-related columns. The former Barcelona and Benfica star is therefore becoming very hot property right in the here and now, which can only signal positive news for Hammers fans on the lookout for exciting new developments at their club over the summer.

When it comes sending the ball home in more than composed style and linking up rather effectively with the rest of his respective team-mates all across the pitch, as well as simply providing a dangerous outlet for his manager on nearly every given occasion he finds himself out on the field, this is one player who has clearly served to impress this season.

The widely admired attacker has successfully netted 11 league goals so far in 2015/16 after all, which certainly isn’t bad going for a player largely deployed out on the wing. The subsequent interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona therefore arrives as little surprise within the grand scheme of things, especially as Nolito could very well be on the move for a fee close to £18m this summer.

…Yet whilst West Ham United would traditionally represent somewhat of a step-down for high profile players looking for one last illustrious move among the English game, the current campaign has ultimately painted Bilic’s determined outfit in a distinctly different light.

With the club’s upcoming move to London’s Olympic Stadium beckoning with every passing week now, the Hammers are well within their rights to start aiming high in the hectic summer transfer scene. Several highly coveted striking acquisitions are seemingly being considered by the Hammers' board right in the here and now of course, with a selection of the hottest properties from the French top-flight supposedly interested in making a big money switch to the East End sooner rather than later.

In light of West Ham’s predictably ambitious approach this summer, the potential capture of Celta Vigo’s Nolito doesn’t seem quite as outrageous as initial appearances may very well suggest. As the Hammers could also end the current 2015/16 campaign with European football successfully lined up for the new league season, the in-form La Liga favourite could very well be tempted by such a proposition when all is said and done.

Although it will admittedly take a great deal of perseverance from the money-men behind the scenes at Upton Park with all things fairly taken into account, this is one particular deal that could easily turn out to be more than just loose paper talk and careless speculation.
