West Ham’s Nordtveit scores unlikely world class goal on FM17

Of the 13 players West Ham signed in the summer, you could probably count on one hand the amount who have made a positive impact so far.

One summer signing who is yet to impress the London Stadium faithful is Havard Nordtveit, who arrived on a free transfer from Borrusia Monchengladbach.

The midfielder/defender has gone about his business with minimal fuss but without anything to really write home about. There have been times when his performances just haven’t met the high standards set by West Ham fans.

However, it’s not all Nordtveit’s fault. He has admittedly been used as a utility player due to a number of injuries to the Hammers’ defenders. So far he has featured as a right-back, centre-back and defensive midfielder, which doesn’t give him much chance to really stamp his authority on one position in the team.

But while the Hammers newbie isn’t setting the world alight in East London, one player of Football Manager 17 may have unearthed one of Nordtveit’s most hidden talents.

The gamer posted a video on Reddit of Nordtveit scoring a wonderful overhead from a deep Dimitri Payet corner.

If Nordtveit can do something like this against Sunderland on Saturday, he’d no doubt go down as a West Ham hero…
