West Ham’s main man denied magic moment against Arsenal

Much of the pre-match build-up to West Ham’s Premier League clash with Arsenal surrounded the Hammers’ current loanee from Barcelona Alex Song.

The Cameroonian midfielder was seen as something of a coup for Sam Allardyce’s side when he arrived from the Nou Camp, and the former Gunner has been instrumental in West Ham’s sensational 2014/15 campaign so far.

Song has revealed that he had hoped – like Chelsea’s summer signing Cesc Fabregas – to return to the Emirates, however, for one reason or another Arsene Wenger opted against bringing back the midfielder – bet Le Professeur would love to call upon Song now, though.

Seeing as football loves a script, it was inevitable that Song would score against his former club. And although the goal would win any Goal of the Month competition, it was rightly ruled out for offside.

That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it, however.
