The start of the new Premier League season will soon be upon us and all the clubs involved are busy strengthening their squads over the summer transfer window. With so much money in the top tier now, it’s no longer the top four or five teams that can afford to splash the cash on new players to help them succeed.

While the big-name signings and moves such as Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United or Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal make all the news, it’s often more exciting to look beyond them to see who will do well next year. Football is built on young players coming through the ranks and bursting onto the scene or unknown players arriving from foreign shores to set the place on fire.

Here, we take a look at the most hotly tipped players to break through this coming season and make a name for themselves.

Dominic Solanke

Arriving at Liverpool from rivals Chelsea for a tribunal fee, this young player has got all the attributes to do superbly at Anfield. Likened by his coach at Chelsea to a young Teddy Sheringham, his intelligence and reading of the game is fantastic. Unlike Sheringham, he is also pretty quick, and this will make him a nightmare for defenders to face when he is running at them.

With limited opportunities at Chelsea, this seems a wise move by the youngster to get some playing time under his belt, especially if Daniel Sturridge were to leave. Fresh from being Player of the Tournament in England Under-20's successful World Cup, he is set to make a big impact for Jürgen Klopp.

Tammy Abraham

A former teammate of Solanke at Chelsea, Tammy Abraham is another player from London to keep an eye on. Having been sent out to Swansea on loan for 2017/18 to gain first-team experience, there is a real feeling that he will have a great year.

A very successful spell out on loan to Bristol City last season where he bagged 26 goals sees him coming into this season full of confidence and eager to show his talents on the Premier League stage. With his great movement and lethal finishing, he is certainly one to watch.

Josh Onomah

This lively and skilful midfielder is all set to make 2017/18 his breakthrough season at Tottenham Hotspur. Having played a few times for them last campaign and impressing, manager Mauricio Pochettino seems sure to use him more this year.

His outstanding displays at the Under-20 World Cup for England over the summer will have helped as he was part of the team that took the trophy home. Interestingly, he did really well in a deeper-lying midfield role for the Under-20s rather than the wide role that Pochettino had used him in previously, so this may be where his future lies.

Many expect Tottenham to have another serious attempt at the league this year, and Onomah could well play a big part. Many fans may even have a little flutter on this, and if you are looking for the best betting site UK, then all the big companies are shown on the above link.

Steve Mounie

A player who has snuck into the Premier League this summer slightly under the radar is Steve Mounie. Moving to newly promoted Huddersfield from Montpellier in France, he is the club’s record signing at £11.5 million. You can see why manager David Wagner was so keen to sign him – he scored 14 times for the French club last year in his first full season at that level.

Mounie does seem to have all the characteristics you want from a player in the Premier League, especially as a forward. He knows where the goal is, is physical, and is athletic also – this combination should see him do well and give Huddersfield a chance of staying up.

Florian Lejeune

Another exciting arrival is this player from Eibar in Spain. Apparently tracked for years by manager Rafa Benítez, Lejeune is a tough centre-back who will give Newcastle United the strength in defence to do well. With an £8.7 million transfer fee around his neck, the pressure is on, but Benítez obviously thinks he can handle it.

Good with both feet, tall, and great in the air, he has everything that you want from a Premier League defender, so he seems all set to have a tremendous year.

Every year, there are players, young or unknown from abroad, who seemingly come out of nowhere to set the place alight. If you think of a player such as Riyad Mahrez at Leicester City in their title-winning year, you get the idea. 2017/18 seems like it will be no different, and it will be lots of fun seeing which players are the ones to do it this time around.
